Proud to be a Singaporean #sweatfornepal

It’s one of those days I feel really proud to be called a Singaporean whenever I travel. When Singaporeans come together for a cause greater than themselves.

After the recent earthquake in Nepal, a group of locals in the fitness industry, set out to do something for Nepal. They wanted to find a way to give back and decided to put their talents to good use. These people who are quite literally one of the best at what they do, would be coming together to hold classes such as Yoga, Zumba, Bollyrobics etc to the general public this Sunday (3rd May 2015)

It will be held at Singapore Sports Hub from 830~130pm, for more information, read HERE

Among other sponsors, our Singapore Travel blog partner from The Sock Avenue of the socks singapore team would also be sponsoring 100 pairs of their best sellers (worth $590) to the first 100 participants!

It really is a very meaningful and heartwarming event. It represents everything our founding father Lee Kuan Yew stood for, how we should give aid to our neighbors and our neighbors will help us back in times of need. It touches my heart to see his values flow down to average singaporeans like you and I.

And although we are proud that our travel blog gets to play a very very small part, we dont want to take the limelight away from the organizers and trainers who would be giving up their precious Sunday to be there, for they are the true heros. If you, like me, have tried organizing an event of this magnitude, you too will understand the difficulties in doing so.

So if you are still contemplating what to do this Sunday, head on down to Singapore Sports Hub to really sweat it out for a good cause 🙂

UPDATE: THE EVENT WAS HELD ON 3RD MAY 2015 AND HAS MET WITH TREMENDOUS SUCCESS WITH THANKS TO THE 226 PEOPLE WHO DONATED AND SAW A TOATL OF SGD$7.1K RAISED. READ MORE ABOUT HOW THE EVENT WENT HERE
