Escape to the city

The world is full of inspiring, exciting, and cultural cities to explore, and each one of them has something new and different to show for itself. No city is the same as the next, and that’s what makes them so exciting, perfect for a mini break to experience a different way of life, a different culture, fill your boots with history and architecture, and of course, hit the shops with gusto!

Researching your city of choice before you depart is the best way to find out what there is to see, and to identify the points of interest for you as an individual. Maybe you’re not too bothered about the museums, but you want to see the local soccer team, or maybe you’re all about galleries, and you want to know the best ones to see. Forums are a good place to find out such information, and if you’re heading a more obscure place, somewhere totally different to anywhere you’ve been before, it’s even more important to get some insider information on the places to see and be seen in.

For instance, take the Far East, if you’re heading to this exciting and mysterious part of the world and you’ve never been before, you might have no clue what to see and do, so research is even more important. Checking out our Singapore travel blog before you visit this huge city will give you even more information on how to spend your time, and how to get around, which is certainly something you need to be clued up on.

Another area you need to pay close attention to when it comes to planning a city break is where to stay. You don’t need to be staying on the outskirts of the city and then having to commune in and out every day, sometimes more than once. It’s true that staying more central is going to cost you more in accommodation fees, however it works itself out when you take off the cost of transportation. It’s false economy to book a hotel on the outskirts and then spend precious dollars on trains, buses and taxis a few times every day. Give this some close thought and make sure you pick the best option for you and the things you want to see.

Barcelona, Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin, Rome, Milan, Istanbul, London, Oslo – these are just a few of the European cities that beg to be explored. You can go further afield and think about Sydney, Auckland, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Tokyo, Beijing, and Moscow even. How about Buenos Aires, New York, Toronto, or Las Vegas?

The world is full of exciting and important cities to explore, so don’t simply target your travels at beach resorts and islands, think about cities too, full of history, culture, shopping, cuisine, entertainment, sport, and plentiful rest and relaxation opportunities too. Find your ideal city, research it, book that vacation and head off to the city – the city calls and believe me, it’s worth every single second of the planning when you realise your dream break.

We will be covering alot more guides of the above mentioned cities in time to come, so like our Facebook page and stay tuned 🙂
